Subo on the hunt for the perfect man

Susan Boyle does not hold high hopes for her beau's looks

Susan Boyle has said she wants to give up the spinster lifestyle and find love.

But the Scots singer said her beau would be unlikely to be a looker – joking “he’ll probably have one eye, one foot in the grave and be deaf as a post.”

Subo made the comments while promoting her third album on Lorraine Kelly’s TV show.

Asked about her dream man, the Britain’s Got Talent star told Lorraine: “He’s got to be out there somewhere, but knowing my luck he’ll probably have one eye, one foot in the grave and be deaf as a post.”

SuBo shot to stardom in 2009 after singing I Dreamed a Dream, from the musical Les Misérables.

With her new found wealth, SuBo bought a £300,000 gated mansion in her home town of Blackburn, West Lothian. She was rumoured to have moved back to the former council house she once shared with her mother but says she is now enjoying her new home, despite missing her former abode.

She said: “It’s a council house, that’s where my roots are, you have to have your roots, it keeps you grounded.

“What do I miss about back home? Probably my sausages, a piece. But that was the old Susan Boyle, this is the new one.”

Despite her success, SuBo said she still struggles with her new-found fame.

She said: “It was unusual circumstances; I don’t think it’s likely to happen in anyone else’s lifetime again. I don’t know what I did. Next minute bang!

“When I saw that satellite outside, I though I hadn’t paid my TV license, I though oh no what’s going on here, are they going to dismantle my telly?

“I think people see me as a real person, I’m not manufactured, no Botox, I’m not tied up at the back or anything.

“I get letters telling me how I have really influenced people’s lives and inspired them in some way and being an ordinary person I find this quite hard to take in, what you see is what you get.”
