Boy arrested for harassing fire crew

The boy is charged in relation to two fires in November

A TEENAGER has been arrested for allegedly harassing fire crews in West Lothian.

Crews were called to a bonfire outside Whitburn Community Centre in West Lothian on November 5.

As they fought the flames they received verbal abuse from a gang of teenagers and one spat in the direction of a firefighter.

The boy has also been charged with alleged reckless conduct after youths suffered minor burns when an on-fire wheelie bin was alight was kicked over outside the Community Centre on November 11.

Lothian and Borders Police said the 14-year-old boy will be reported to the Children’s Reporter for both incidents
