VIRTUOSO violinist Nicola Benedetti today received an Honorary Degree at the University of Edinburgh.
Classical music star Ms Benedetti, currently riding high in the charts with her fifth CD Italia, will received a Doctor of Music at a ceremony in the McEwan Hall.
Scots-born Ms Benedetti, who is proud of her Italian heritage, is a patron of a University of Edinburgh scheme to provide scholarships for postgraduate Italian Studies students.
The Nicola Benedetti Scholarship Fund creates opportunities for students who otherwise may not have the chance to take part in Italian Studies at Edinburgh.
