Woman killed in Fife car crash named

Tracy was the passenger in the Audi

A WOMAN who died following a collision in Fife has been named by police.

Tracy Forbes, 45, was a passenger in an Audi A5 Coupe, which collided with a lorry on the A911 near Markinch on Tuesday.

Today her family paid tribute to the nurse, who worked at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

Her sister, Lee Ann Gardner, said: “Tracy was a devoted mother and sister and who was also a perfect daughter, who was a best friend to all. She was a dedicated and passionate nurse who will be sadly missed by all.”

Tracy had been airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the collision, which happened at around 1.30pm, but she died from her injuries later that evening.

The male driver of the car suffered only minor injuries.

The lorry driver was treated by ambulance staff at the scene.

Police are now keen to trace drivers who may have witnessed the crash.

Chief Inspector Davie McCulloch, Head of Road Policing, said: “We are very keen to get witness statements from the drivers and/or passengers of a small yellow car, possibly a Fiat Cinquecento, and a small, white car, possibly a Peugeot.

“We believe the occupants of these cars may have witnessed the accident itself, or are able to give us vital information which will help us complete our investigations into this tragic incident.”
