The pair were struck on Douglas Road

A MAN and a young girl have been hospitalised after being hit by a police car in Dundee.

The marked Ford Focus was driving along Douglas Road at about 11.25pm last night (Sun) when it collided with the 56-year-old man and seven-year-old girl.

They were taken to Ninewells Hospital where the man was treated for cracked ribs and a broken leg. The girl suffered a facial injury.

A police spokesman said the car had not been on a call at the time of the incident.
