Military salute for Prince’s birthday

The salute celebrated Prince Charles' birthday

SCOTTISH soldiers fired a 21-Gun salute today (Mon) to mark the birthday of Prince Charles.

The shots were fired from Edinburgh Castle by Gunners from 105th Regiment Royal Artillery (Volunteers).

Commenting on the Salute commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Chris Huthwaite said: “The Regiment is deeply honoured to fire this 21-Gun Royal Salute to mark the 63rd Birthday of His Royal Highness The Duke of Rothesay.

“The Royal Salute provides another occasion for the soldiers of the Regiment to display their professionalism and pride in conducting such an honour.”

Prince Charles is 63 today
