A man and a woman entered Gemini Jewellers sometime around 11.40am on Wednesday 25 October 2011.
They appeared at one stage to have a lot of English currency on them, however did try at one stage to pay for the bracelets by credit card.
During the time they were in the shop the female left to go to a local bank, however failed to return.
When the man left the shop the four bracelets, valued at £1100 were found missing.
The pair are described as being eastern European. The man was 30 to 40 years old, about 5’ 7” tall, medium to heavy build with short black hair and was possibly balding.
He was wearing a pink shirt, beige jacket and dark trousers. The woman was about 35 years of age, 5’ 5” tall, medium to heavy build and with long dark hair tied back.
She was wearing a long brown skirt to her ankles, a blue shirt and was carrying a beige shoulder bag.
It may be that the two suspects have been in other shops in the area and police are asking for anyone who may have seen them to get in touch if they can help identify them.
TWO concrete statues have been stolen from the garden of a house inGoldie CrescentinDumfriessometime around 10pm on Tuesday 25 October 2011.
The statues are of women and stand about 3’ tall. They are valued in total at about £600.
A SILVER Rover 114 car was broken into and an attempt made to steal it around 11.50pm on Tuesday 25 October 2011, while the car was parked inTerregles Street in Dumfries.
GRAMPIAN POLICE
A SPORTS car which was stolen over the weekend has been found.
The Porche Cayenne was stolen from Macaulay Grange,Aberdeenover night on Sunday 23/24 October.
The vehicle was traced in the Torry area in the early hours of this morning (Wed).
A Grampian Police spokesman said enquiries into the theft of the car are still ongoing.
He said: “Officers also wish to thank the public for their assistance in tracing the Porsche in particular for the numerous calls received following sightings of the car in the Torry area.”
Four men, wearing dark hooded tops, were seen close the vehicle when it was spotted in the Newmachar area on Monday.
POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery at Leith’s Newsagent, Forbesfield Road, Aberdeen.
The incident took place at around 11.00am on Tuesday 25 October 2011 when two men entered the shop and demanded money but left empty handed. It is believed that the men made off in a black saloon style car.
Detective Sergeant Lorna Ferguson said: “During the incident two men entered the shop and demanded money from a member of staff. One of the men who was armed with a bladed weapon but no-one sustained any injuries.
“We are appealing to the local community for their help in identifying those responsible.
“In particular we are keen to hear from anyone who saw the two men or the black car in the area around this time. The men were both in their late teens or early twenties and were wearing black clothing and woollen hats with their faces partially covered.”

POLICE are investigating the theft of a quantity of copper pipe in the St Swithin Street area of Aberdeen.
The incident occurred between Thursday 13 and Wednesday 19 October 2011 and the vehicle which the pipe is thought to have been stolen from is a silver or grey Ford Transit style Plumber’s van that would have been parked on St Swithin Street, Aberdeen, during the above dates.
As a result of the incident, a quantity of approximately 10 lengths of copper pipe in varying diameters were stolen from the insecure tube carrier on the roof of the van.
Grampian Police are keen to trace the owner/driver of this vehicle who may not have been aware of the theft until a later date.
LOTHIAN AND BORDERS POLICE
A BUS driver was assaulted and threatened with a knife in broad daylight.
A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged knifepoint robbery at aWest Lothian betting shop.
Over £1500 was stolen from the Ladbrokes store in West Main Street Whitburn during the incident, which happened around 9.45pm on Wednesday 19 October.
No one was injured and staff at the store alerted police as soon as the suspect made off.
Detectives carried out local enquiries and a 33-year-old man was arrested on Friday 21 October and appeared in court on yesterday.
Police continue to investigate and anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in or around the shop prior to the robbery is asked to contact police immediately.
POLICE are warning residents of West Lothian to remain vigilant after a number of bogus workmen incidents at the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon (October 22) there were three incidents reported to police where men were attempting to get access to people’s homes, but ran off when their identity was questioned.
The incidents that were reported were inChapelton Avenue, Polbeth; Jubilee Road, Whitburn andCharles Crescent, Bathgate.
In each case men have called at the house requesting to check water supplies, and sometimes presented identity cards. When the homeowners have questioned the validity of the identity cards, however, they have made off quickly.
A police spokesperson said: “Fortunately these homeowners have been wary of the cold callers trying to get into their homes so have managed to deter them by checking their identity cards.
“We would encourage everyone to do the same, if you are not expecting someone at your house take the time to check their ID – genuine workmen will not mind you calling their employer for verification.
“All too often these people try to target the most vulnerable members of society, so we are asking communities to take responsibility and don’t let anyone into your house if you have not arranged for them to come.

MORE than £9000 of property was stolen during a break-in to a house inJohnston Avenue, Dundee sometime between 10.45am and 1pm on Monday (October 24).
Amongst the items stolen from the address was a large quantity of men and women’s jewellery, a silver Avent lap top computer, a Playstation 3 and games, a silver and black lap top computer and an iPhone.
A digital camera, Wii computer games, a Bose docking station, a pair of blue Adidas Gazelle trainers, a jacket with goggles fitted in the hood and a blue Stone Island jacket were also stolen, along with a three-figure sum of cash.
PHOTOGRAPHIC equipment and other items worth almost £3000 were stolen during a break in to an address inPerth Road, Dundee, sometime between 7.50am and 9.55pm on Monday (October 24).
A Nikon camera and silver Sony camcorder were taken, along with two sat navs, a stainless steel Seiko watch, three Times watches and two gold-plated Angus pocket watches.
A Dictaphone, bottles of whisky and a compass were also stolen, as well as a royal blue coloured rucksack, which was likely used to carry the property away.
A HOUSE in Dundee’s Lawside Terrace was broken into sometime between 11am and 1pm on Sunday (October 23).
Stolen was a black Toshiba lap top computer with a copper-coloured lid, an antique sterling silver bracelet and earrings.
Tayside Police would appeal to anyone who was in the Lawside Terrace, Law Crescent, Lawside Avenue area and who saw any suspicious people or activity in the area to call 0300 111 2222.
OFFICERS inDundeeare also appealing for information following a break in to a house in Fairmuir Street sometime between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Monday (October 24).
Taken from the address was an iPod Touch, a Nintendo Wii, Sony and Toshiba-make lap top computers and a three-figure sum of money.
Police want to trace a man who was seen in the area at abut 4.30pm. He was wearing a white polo shirt, black jumper and jeans. They also want identify the occupants of a black Vauxhall Meriva that was seen in the area earlier in the afternoon.
CHILDREN’S bikes and a length of electrical cable were stolen from a private garage inSt Martin Avenue,Dundee, sometime between 3pm on Saturday (October 22) and 6.10am on Monday (October 24).
The bikes are both BMXs, one blue and the other a red-coloured Magna make bike.
A HOUSE inDundee’sBrackens Roadwas broken into sometime between 12.30am and 6.30am on Monday (October 24).
Stolen from the address was a Sony Ericsson Experia mobile phone, an HP lap top computer, aFujicamera, and a three figure sum of cash.
A red Kia Rio car was also taken from outside the house, but was later recovered in St Columba Gardens.
POLICE inDundeewant to trace two men in dark clothing who were seen running from theWest School Roadarea on Sunday night (October 23) at around the time that a house there was broken into.
Gold and silver cufflinks, a Siemens mobile phone and a camera were taken during a break in to a house some time between 7.30pm and 10.10pm. A small red canvas hold all was also taken and likely used to carry off the stolen property.
Loud noises were heard in the area at about 7.50-7.55 and officers want to identify two men who were seen running off fromWest School Roadat about 8pm. Both were dressed in dark clothing. One wore a hooded top while the other appeared to be carrying something red.
POLICE in Forfar are appealing for information after the wing mirror of an articulated lorry was vandalised at the Bellies Brae car park in Kirriemuir, some time between midday on Saturday (October 22) and 9am on Sunday (October 23).
The incident comes about a week after a similar vandalism at the car park, when a lorry had its wing mirror damaged and its tyre valve caps stolen. This incident happened sometime between 6.30pm on Friday (October 14) and 12.30pm on Saturday (October 15).
POLICE in Forfar are appealing for any witnesses to an assault that happened at the junction ofVictoria StreetandCastle Streetin the early hours of Saturday (Oct 22).
The attack resulted in a 35-year-old man being taken by ambulance toNinewellsHospitalinDundee. He was detained for a time for observation and later release having suffered minor cuts and bruises.
He was knocked to the ground and assaulted sometime between 2.20am and 2.35am by a man and a woman. The man is described as being about six feet tall, with short dark brown hair and a tattoo on his right arm. At the time he wore a black cardigan over a white t-shirt.
The woman is said to be five feet one inches tall with dirty blonde hair.
It’s understood that following the incident they walked off intoCanmore Street, got into a burgundy coloured taxi and left the area.
