Man charged after £12,000 worth of cannabis seized

POLICE in Fife have arrested a man after cannabis plants worth around £12,000 were seized from his home.

The South West Fife Pro-Active Team searched the address in Steelend on 30 September.

During the search they found the plants along with equipment used in the cultivation of these plants.

A local man has now been charged and will appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on 27 October.

Area Community Sergeant Jillian Neill, who led the operation, said: “Operations like this cannot be conducted without the assistance of the public who work and live in our communities and this is a great example that highlights people are willing to contact and engage with the police.

“With the public’s help we can work together and rid our communities of illicit substances and the hugely detrimental wider impact they have.

“I would ask again that if you have any information about the supply of drugs in the South West Fife area to contact Fife Constabulary on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“All information is dealt with in the strictest confidence and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have provided us with recent information.”
