CANNABIS worth £35,000 has been seized in Fife.
The drugs were discovered following a raid at a warehouse in the Levenmouth area.
A 37-year-old has been arrested under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
PC Michael Nodes said: “Operations in respect of misuse of drugs are ongoing within the entire Levenmouth area and I am pleased to report that we are making further progress in the fight to rid our streets of illegal drugs.
“As a result of intelligence gathering and partnership work being carried out within the Levenmouth area, we have been particularly successful in recent months in targeting those involved in the misuse of drugs and these operations have led to a substantial amount of illegal substances being removed from our communities.
“All officers of Fife Constabulary are committed to reducing the harm caused by these substances and interrupting the supply of these drugs locally within our communities”.
DS Graeme Dursley said: “These continuing operations could not go ahead without the assistance of our communities and I would take this opportunity to thank all those who have provide us with information. GRAMPIAN POLICE
POLICE are anxious to trace Douglas MacPherson, 77, who was last seen at his home address in Inverurie around 4.30pm on Thursday 29 September 2011.
Mr MacPherson is described as being 5ft 8″ tall, of slim build, short grey hair and wearing a cream shirt, green jumper, dark trousers and an olive green winter jacket.
FOLLOWING an appeal for information regarding an assault that took place on Sluie Drive, Dyce, Aberdeen in the early hours of Saturday 24 September 2011, Grampian Police have traced a 24 year old male who has been arrested, charged, and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Grampian Police would like to thank everyone who provided information resulting in the arrest of this person.
A MAN has suffered facial injuries in an assault in Aberdeen.
The 20-year-old was attacked at about 1:50am today (thurs) on the city’s Bath Street.
He and another 19-year-old man were set upon by a gang of men near the Royal Hotel.
The 20 year old victim was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he was treated for a minor facial injury. The 19 year old victim was uninjured.
A MAN has suffered head injuries after being assaulted in Aberdeen.
The 24-year-old was attacked between 3am and 3.15am on Tuesday on the city’s Ann Street.
He was later treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
LOTHIAN AND BORDERS POLICE
THREE elderly people have been robbed of thousands of pounds after being tricked into giving away their bank cards.
A TWELTH person has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged football disorder following last month’s match between Hibs and Sunderland.
Officers carried out early morning wake up calls at 13 addresses across Edinburgh and Musselburgh yesterday (Wed) and 11 men were charged after being arrested at their homes or when they attended at their local police station.
A 25-year-old man from Edinburgh then attended at Gayfield Police Station late last night and was charged with an alleged racially motivated breach of the peace.
He is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thurs).
Superintendent Donnie MacKinnon said: “Of the 13 individuals we were looking to trace, 12 have now been arrested and charged for the part they played in last month’s disorder at a friendly football match.
“We continue to follow a positive line of enquiry to trace the thirteenth man and will use the resources at our disposal to bring him to justice as soon as possible.
“These arrests send a clear message to our communities – if you attend a football match to enjoy the game, we will do everything we can to ensure your experience is not marred by violence or offensive chanting.
“If you are found to be engaging in these criminal activities, we will work closely with the football clubs to identify you, arrest you and make sure you are barred from attending further matches.”
MORE than £40,000 of stolen jewelley has been recovered by police in Edinburgh.
Officers were investigating the use of an online pawnbroker site for the sale of stolen goods.
Enquiries led them to arrest and charge a 24-year-old man with the alleged theft and re-sale of high-value jewellery in Edinburgh.
The recovered goods are linked to a series of housebreaking from across Edinburgh in recent months.
The arrested man is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thurs) in connection with the offences.
Detective Inspector George Thomson said: “Our enquiries into the use of the Borro.com site by criminals resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of high-value jewellery, which we will now return to their rightful owners.
“The Borro.com team were immensely helpful during our investigation and during our efforts to recover the stolen items. I would like to thank them for all of their assistance.
“Officers will continue to monitor sites like these as well as visiting pawnbroker stores to gather intelligence on those involved in housebreakings and thefts.
“Lothian and Borders Police is committed to tackling acquisitive crime and will use all resources at our disposal to reduce the avenues by which thieves can attempt to dispose of stolen goods.”
NORTHERN CONSTABULARY
THIEVES have stolen children’s dinner money after breaking into a school.
One or more people broke into Fort William Primary School on Achintore Road sometime between 7pm yesterday (wed) and 7am today.
They also caused substantial damage within the building.
Police believe those responsible may have left via the back of the school and would appeal to anyone who saw one or more people acting suspiciously in the area of Lundavra Road following the break in and theft.
Area Commander for Lochaber, Skye and Lochalsh, Acting Inspector Jenny Fraser said: “This was a wanton act of vandalism and the callous theft of money belonging to young school children.
“We would appeal to anyone who knows who may have been involved or saw anything suspicious to contact Police.”

POLICE have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of a man’s body on the morning of Wednesday 28 September 2011, in Dalmarnock, Glasgow.
The man can now be named as Brian Faulds, 29, from the Dalmarnock area.
Detective Superintendent John McGovern, from the Major Investigation Team, who is leading the enquiry said today: “Following the discovery of a man’s body around 8am on Wednesday 28 September we are now treating this death as a murder. It would appear that Brian was the victim of a sustained and violent attack; his body was also set on fire.
“At this time we are also investigating the possibility that Brian was murdered elsewhere and his body removed to the walkway where he was subsequently found.
“Brian was known to frequent the areas of Bridgeton and Dalmarnock, and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard from Brian in the hours leading up to his death to contact the incident room.
“Anyone with information that can help police with their enquiries is asked to contact officers at the incident room in London Road Police Office on 0141 532 4750.”
POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was robbed on Forbes Drive, in the East End of Glasgow, on Tuesday 27 September 2011.
Around 12.45pm, a 23-year-old woman was walking to her car which was parked in Forbes Drive, next to the car park of Bridgeton Health Centre, when she was confronted by a man.
The man demanded her handbag and at the same time, he pushed her head against her car window. The victim dropped her bag but the suspect assaulted her again before making off with the handbag. It is not know in which direction he headed.
The woman was not injured as a result of the assault but has obviously been left in a very distressed state. The woman’s bag is described as a black, Prada bag and contained a four-figure some of cash – takings from a local business which the woman was on her way to deposit.
The suspect is described as being in his late 30s, approximately 6ft tall with short, dark, greying hair. He had a thin faceand was clean shaven.
At the time of the robbery he was wearing a dark hooded top with a dark emblem on the front.
Detective Constable Ross Jamieson at London Road CID said today: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Forbes drive or the Bridgeton Health Centre on Tuesday around lunchtime and may have seen a man matching the suspect’s description hanging around.
“Also, if anyone has any information on this man or who can help officers to identify him, please come forward.”
TAYSIDE POLICE
AN outboard engine has been stolen from a boat in the Arbirlot area of Angus.
The 200hp grey-coloured Yamaha engine was taken from the semi-rigid boat while it was on a dirt track beside a farm steading south of the B9127 Arbroath to Arbirlot road, some time between 5pm on Monday September 19 and 8.30am on Monday September 26.
APPROXIMATELY 20-30 used car batteries were stolen from Angus Council’s recycling centre in Carnoustie’s Balmachie Road.
The theft happened some time between 5pm on Tuesday (Sep 27) and 8am on Wednesday (Sep 28).
ATTEMPTS to break in to a number of lock up garages to the rear of Stewart Butchart Motors Milton Park Garage, Ferry Road, Monifieth, were made at about 10.25pm on Sunday (Sep 25).
Banging noises were heard in the area at the time and two shadowy figures, one with a torch, were seen acting suspiciously before getting into a dark vehicle – possibly an Audi – which drove off at speed towards Broughty Ferry.
A WATERPROOF plastic banner, measuring six metres long by one metre high, was stolen from the outside wall of the Old Mill in West Marketgait, Dundee.
The £300 banner, advertising the Tayside Deaf Hub Café, was taken some time between 6pm on Saturday (Sep 24) and 1.30pm on Monday (Sep 26).
Funds to purchase the banner were raised through charitable donations and the owners are understandably keen to see it returned.
A WHITE Ford Transit van, with a tailgate and drop down sides, was stolen from a secure yard at Griffin Wind Farm at Amulree.
The £14,000 van, which bore the registration SJ59 UWU, was taken some time between 5pm on Friday (Sep 23) and 8am on Monday (Sep 26).
POLICE in Auchterarder want to trace the person responsible for graffiti which was left on the wall of the local Co-op store on High Street.
Some time between 10pm on Monday (Sep 26) and 6am on Tuesday (Sep 27), a two foot high Star Wars stormtrooper has been stencilled on to the wall.
