STIRLING Castle has won a top award for its website design.

It received a prestigious Government Standard of Excellence Web Award from the Web Marketing Association.

The Stirling Castle website was described by the judges as a “dynamite site”. The judges also added:  “Kudos to all involved.”

Linda Kong, Digital Manager, Historic Scotland which manages the castle, said:  “We are continually exploring new ways to present a richer heritage experience online so it is extremely rewarding to have our efforts recognised internationally.

“The talented digital team we have in place is the driving force behind this award and we are all proud of the website’s success.

“We have also been shortlisted for the CIPR PRide Awards this year, so this is a terrific achievement for the team.”

Now in its 15th year, the Web Award programme is the premier annual website award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.
