Sex offender hunted by police

Police believe Brian Andrews could be in the Livingston area

POLICE are hunting for a sex offender who has gone missing from his South Lanarkshire home.

Brian Andrews, 32, was last seen in the Lanark area on September 6, and police believe he may have headed to Livingston.

They said he has a tent with him and may be camping.

Police say e has convictions for serious sexual assaults and he is a violent individual who should not be approached if seen.

Mr Andrews is 32 years old and described as a white male, 5ft 8 inches tall, of slim build, with short dark hair. He may also have several days facial hair growth, and was last seen wearing a cream coloured jacket, and was in possession of a flight case and bag.

The officer leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Nicola Burnett stated: “Strathclyde Police has been working closely with our partners in Lothian and Borders Police to trace Mr Andrews who was last seen leaving his home address on the morning of September6.

“It is believed he is in the Livingston area where Mr Andrews has strong ties.

“Mr Andrews is in possession of a tent and may be camping out.”
