Liam was killed while on holiday with his grandmother
THE PARENTS of a six-year-old boy knocked down and killed while on holiday have paid tribute to their
“very precious little boy. “
Liam Robert McDonald, from Prospecthill, Glasgow, was enjoying a break with his grandmother and cousins at Seton Sands Holiday Village when he was killed on Tuesday afternoon.
It’s believed Liam had gone into the road to retrieve a dropped playing card when he was struck by a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
In a statement the family thanked those who had gone to the boy’s aid immediately after he was knocked down.
They said:
“We would like to thank everyone who tried to help Liam in the minutes after the accident and for those who have provided support to us in the following hours and days.
“He was a very precious little boy and we miss him very much. “
The family also requested that they be left alone to grieve.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. In particular, officers want to speak to the driver of a white van that was seen travelling towards Longniddry around the time of the collision, which they have still to trace.
A spokesman for Seton Sands said:
“This is a terrible, terrible tragedy and has greatly affected all guests and staff. We are now doing everything we can to assist the family. “
