A MANwas attacked in broad daylight by a thief carrying a knife.
The 61-year-old was walking his dog at 8am today (Fri) when he was approached by a man who demanded his belongings.
The victim refused to give up his possessions and was cut on the hand by the knife following a struggle in the Braidburn Valley Park area of Edinburgh.
He fell to the ground and the thief made away with the his wallet.
The suspect is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall with a slim build and blond hair with dark streaks through it. He was wearing a blue hooded top and spoke with a local accent
A police spokesman said: “The victim is understandably, still in shock following this assault and thankfully he was not seriously injured.
“Given the time of day, there were potentially a number of people in the area and anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or can help identify the suspect is asked to contact police immediately.”
