A BITTER Twitter feud has erupted between Scots DJ Calvin Harris and Katy Perry after he pulled out of her UK shows.
The 27-year-old DJ from Dumfries was set to open for the American singer on her current tour but he cancelled last minute because of stage arrangements.
And now the pair are having it out over Twitter.
Katy Perry, who recently married British comedian Russell Brand, tweeted: “FYI ALL UK & IRELAND RELATED SHOWS @Calvin Harris will NOT be joining in on the fun and has CANCELLED last minute.”
Calvin, who is famous for his hits ‘I’m Not Alone’, ‘Acceptable in the 80s’ and ‘Ready for the Weekend’, retweeted the message and retaliated: “Sorry to all who wanted to see me with Katy – her team suddenly moved the goalposts, and I was to appear on stage with no production.”
He went on to say: “It would have looked shit, sounded shit – trust me you would have been more disappointed SEEING the show than u are with me cancelling.”
He added: “Her show is awesome, you’ll all have an amazing time without me (especially w/o me DJing on a cardboard box in front of a pink curtain).
“I am really sorry @katyperry I’m just upset because I really wanted to play but ur team made it impossible.
“We tried really hard to sort it out, but playing side of stage for 30 mins, it seemed pointless me even being there.”
But Katy Perry criticised Harris saying that the “goal posts” were fine for other stars on her California Dreams tour.
She said: “Funny the goal post seems to be perfectly fine for New Young Pony Club, Yelle, Robyn, Marina & The Diamonds to name a few.
“Or how bout Janell Monae and her 16 piece band… Etc… it’s fine, I’m used to you cancelling on me, it’s become ur staple!”
Katy Perry is set to play at Glasgow’s SECC next Tuesday.
