Lyon & Turnbull have uncovered a rare and bizarre mechanical exercise machine in the form of a horse, identical to one lost on RMS Titanic. The only two others known in existence are in the gymnasium on RMS Titanic and the other, which belonged to the US president Calvin Coolidge, is now in the Forbes Museum, New York.
The Mechanical Exercise Machine, in the form of a horse is valued at £800 and was manufactured by Spencer Heath & George LTD Ponders End, Middlesex and will be sold by Lyon & Turnbull on March 30th 2011.
Lee Young, Director of Lyon & Turnbull said “This is a very unusual piece and is very difficult to value, it is in very good working condition and when we found the old photograph of a similar machine on The Titanic we thought it would be fun to re-enact the picture.”
