Two rescued after pan of food catches alight

TWO people were rescued from a burning building after a neighbour raised the alarm.

Flames broke out at the ground floor flat in Dumbeg Park in Edinburgh at around 3.20am this morning (Sun) after a pan of food caught alight.

A neighbour was alerted to the blaze by a smoke detector and called for the fire brigade.

A man and a woman were rescued and treated on scene by ambulance crews but did not need to go to hospital.
