FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze at Longannet power station.
The flames started in the plant room at around 4.40pm today (Tue).
Fire crews from Central Fire and Dunfermline worked to tackle the fire.
It is not known if anyone was hurt or injured.
The coal-fired plant is owned by Scottish Power and is situated on the north bank of the Firth of Forth, near Kincardine on Forth.
It is the second largest in the UK and has been open since 1973.
It operates four 600-megawatt turbines, generating 2,304 megawatts of electricity, enough to light two million homes.
