A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car as she crossed a road in Edinburgh.
The incident happened at around 12.30pm yesterday, outside Morrison’s supermarket on West Granton Road.
The 30-year-old was conscious when emergency workers arrived, but was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with a suspected head injury.
A police spokesman said: “The woman was conscious and breathing when we arrived and she was being taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
“She was believed to have suffered a head injury, but it was not thought to be life threatening.”
An ambulance spokesman confirmed: “We were called to West Granton Road at 12.35pm where a woman had been knocked down by a car.
“We took her to the Royal Infirmary where she was being treated for a head injury.”
