Man killed after sports car crashes into tree

POLICE were today (mon) still waiting to name a man who died after his Mazda MX-3 sports car left the road and crashed into a tree near Loch Rannoch in Tayside.

Investigators said the accident happened around 7.10pm on Sunday on the B846 Kinloch Rannoch to Rannoch Station road, heading west on the north side of the loch.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the incident but pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The road was closed and diversions put in place while investigations continued into the cause of the accident.

Tayside Police appealed for witnesses who saw the car in the area to contact them on 0300 111 2222.
