Detectives Hunt Balaclava Bandit After Shop Robbery

POLICE in West Lothian Police are hunting a thief who robbed a store of hundreds of pounds after threatening staff with a knife on Saturday afternoon.

Two members of staff at the “Best One” shop – the old Spar – in Dedridge, Livingston, were threatened by the armed thief at 4.45pm while two customers were also inside.

One of the employees was forced to open the till and handed over a three figure sum to the man who was wearing a balaclava, black top , black jeans and black shoes.

A police spokesman said: “Thankfully the victims were uninjured, however they are understandably distressed as a result of this ordeal, and we are appealing for any information that can help us trace the man responsible.

“Similarly, anyone who recognises the description, or who has any other information that can assist our inquiries, should get in touch with police as a matter of urgency.”
