The First Minister revealed his decision on BBC Radio 4 programme Desert Island Discs, where guests are invited to choose the eight records they would take to an imaginery desert island.
He told presenter Kirsty Young that among his other luxury items he would take the complete works of Scotland’s national poet, as well as that of William Shakespeare and a copy of the Bible.
One other luxury Mr Salmond says he would like along with him is a sand wedge, because he said of all his golf game, his “bunker play needs the most work”.
