Missing man is found dead in East Lothian

A 26-YEAR-OLD man who had been missing for two days after disappearing from his East Lothian home has been found dead

Gerry Collin, from Haddington, was last seen at around midday on Wednesday and police had issued an appeal for information as to his whereabouts.

His green Peugeot car was recovered in a country lane near Garvald yesterday morning (Thurs), prompting officers to scour the area close by.

His body was discovered at around 12.40pm today (Fri) at the slopes of Rangely Kip Hill, just outside the East Lothian village.

A spokesperson for Lothian and Borders Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

They had issued a statement this morning which said his family and friends were growing “increasingly concerned” about his safety.

The spokesperson said: “There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
