A world-famous women-only society has admitted its first ever man to the group in its 120 year history – a Scot.
Now he has become the first ever man to attend a meeting of the NCW/US which was founded back in 1888.
Irvine said: “I am very proud to become the first man to be invited to join.
“When you realise the history of the organisation you can understand what an honour it was for me to be asked.”
Irvine, Executive Chairman of PR firm Media House International, has recently been working on a campaign for the organisation which is based in New York.
The United Nations affiliated NCW/US was founded in 1888 by an illustrious “who’s who” of women’s rights pioneers.
In 2009, they awarded the group’s inaugural Humanitarian Award to Stagecoach co-founder Ann Gloag.
