A MAN was robbed of his mobile phone by two thugs who punched him to the ground outside the home of Hibernian Football Club.
The 38-year-old was threatened with what appeared to be a razor blade before he was knocked to the ground in Albion Place, outside the entrance to the Easter Road stadium in Edinburgh.
The incident happened just after midnight and police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the male attackers.
One is described as between 15 and 17-years-old, slim build, with gelled black hair, and wearing a white tracksuit and blue scarf.
The second suspect is described as between 17 and 19-years-old, medium build, with a chubby face, and wearing a black top and dark jeans.
Police are also looking for a woman with dyed red hair who was seen in the area at the time.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “While the victim did not suffer serious injury, he was still left shaken as a result of his ordeal, and we are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch with police.
“In particular, we want to speak to a woman – described as having dyed red hair and wearing a short-sleeved top and black skirt – who was seen standing nearby.
“Similarly, anyone else who was in the area at the time, who either saw what happened or recognises the description of the suspects, should get in touch.”
Anyone with any information was asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
