TWO people have been charged with alleged drug and firearms offences after a police investigation uncovered £45,000 worth of drugs in Edinburgh.
A 34-year old man and 29-year-old woman were arrested on Thursday after an intelligence led search of a property in Loaning Road.
Drug paraphernalia and cash were found at the house as part of Operation Advance and police also searched a Hyundai Accent car, recovering heroin, a shotgun and ammunition.
The pair were due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thur).
A police spokesman said: “Drugs and firearms devastate our communities and we are committed to identifying those involved in their production and possession and bring them to justice.
“Intelligence is a vital tool for police as we continue to impact upon the illicit operations of serious organised crime groups across the force area and our communities have regularly illustrated their willingness to help us remove criminals from their force area.
“Anyone with information relating to criminal activity in their area should contact police immediately.”
