Woman rescued from burning home

A WOMAN had to be rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out in her Edinburgh home.

The fire started at around 14:19pm at in a third floor flat in Watson Crescent.

After being rescued from the flat the woman received treatment from ambulance crews and was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

A Lothian and Borders Fire Service spokesman said: “Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were in use.

“One female was trapped and was rescued by the fire brigade and received treatment on scene.

“She was taken to the Royal Infirmary.”
