19-year-old charged with Whitburn murder

A 19-year-old girl has been charged with murder, following the death of a girl in Whitburn last Saturday (December 11).

Nattalie Muir, 21, was found with serious injuries in the town centre just before 3am on Saturday.

She was taken to Wishaw General Hospital but later died.

A 19-year-old girl will appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday (December 20).

She already appeared in court this week charged with perverting the course of justice.

George David Stewart, 39, and a 15-year-old male, who cannot be named, also appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court charged with her murder.

Neither made any plea or declaration and Mr Stewart, from West Calder, was remanded in custody while the other accused was remanded in secure accommodation.

Both will appear in court next week.

Miss Muir’s dad, Callum Muir, 41, made an emotional tribute to his daughter earlier this week saying: “Nattalie’s death has had a devastating effect on all of us, and we are struggling to come to terms with our loss.

“She was a devoted mother to her daughter Paige, and was adored by everyone who knew her.

“She was beautiful, loving, caring and generous, with a great personality and sense of fun.

“Her loss in such tragic circumstances has been a huge shock to all of us, but we will always treasure the happy memories of her as a loving mum, sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and of course, friend.

“We still cannot believe that this has happened to such a loving and happy young person.

“We will make sure that Paige will never forget you darling.”

The young mum was found in Brucefield Drive opposite East Main Street in Whitburn.
