Woman and two children treated after Tranent house fire

A WOMAN and two children were treated by ambulance staff after a fire broke out at their home in Tranent.

A fire crew was called to the scene at around 10.30am today (Sun), but the blaze had been extinguished before they arrived.

They used two breathing apparatus to enable them to enter the property and vent it safely.

No one was required to go to hospital, but the three were checked over at the scene by paramedics.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue said: “We were called to a fire at a house in Tranent, where one adult female and two children were already out of the building on our arrival.

“They were treated at the scene but did not require hospital admission.

“The fire was out when we got there and we used two breathing apparatus to vent the property.”

An ambulance spokesman confirmed that no one was taken to hospital.
