X factor winner Joe McElderry gave himself a head start to wow his Scots fans when he sported a ‘Jimmy’ hat at album signing session in Edinburgh.
Around 600 fans had queued – some for up to four hours – to see the singer, who was appearing at the HMV store at Fort Kinnaird shopping Centre to promote his new CD Wide Awake.
Joe was handed a Jimmy hat by a fan, and after an initial bit of wariness, he agreed to put it saying: “Wow, that’s great. How do I look?”
One fan said: “It took ages to get to see Joe, but it was well worth the wait. He was great with all the fans, spending time talking to each of them and posing for pictures.
“And he showed, he was game for a laugh by putting on the Jimmy hat.
“We all hope his new album gets to No 1.”
