DETECTIVES are hunting two youths following the assault and robbery of a 22 year-old man late on Thursday evening (October 21) in Edinburgh.
Lothian and Borders Police have said that the young man was attacked in the underpass between Calder Road and Calder View at 11pm on Thursday.
The two suspects, both described as white males, aged between 15 and 20 years old, allegedly threatened the man with a knife before demanding his bag and personal belongings.
The alleged thieves left the scene and made off towards Sighthill Industrial Estate.
One of the suspects was described as skinny and wearing a black jacket, black cap and a black scarf.
His accomplice was of medium build also wearing dark colours, a grey hooded top.
He also had a large black dog with him.
Police also want to speak to an Afro-Caribbean youth, aged approximately 15-20 years old who had been walking behind the victim and spoke to the suspects before the attack.
He was described as 5ft 6ins tall, with a heavy build and shaved head.
A police spokesman said: “Thankfully the victim wasn’t injured. However, he was left very distressed by the robbery and we are keen to speak with anyone who can help us locate those responsible.
“Anyone who was in the Calder Road area at the time and witnessed the incident or who recognises the description of the suspects is asked to contact police immediately.
“Similarly, the male who was seen to have spoken with the suspects prior to the robbery is asked to get in touch and assist with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information was asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
