A MAN was seriously injured when hit by a car in Edinburgh’s city centre in the early hours of today (Fri).
The 25 year-old was struck by a blue Vauxhall Vectra on the road at the junction of Picardy place and Broughton Street at 3.20am.
Then man who police say was on his own at the time, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where was being treated for serious head and neck injuries.
A police spokesman said: “Despite the time at which this collision occurred, the area is often busy and members of the public may have witnessed the incident.
“If you were in Picardy Place around 3.20am this morning and have information that can assist with our enquiries, we would ask you to contact police immediately.”
The driver of the car stopped at the scene but was uninjured. No one has been charged.
