A 16-year-old girl was assaulted after getting off a bus in Edinburgh on Thursday night.
The girl got off a bus at the top of Clovenstone Drive in the city at around 9:20pm.
She was attacked by a man when walking on a path leading to Clovenstone Park.
He grabbed her and pushed her head into railings that run parallel to the path.
She fought back and managed to make her escape, running away towards Clovenstone Drive.
The suspect is described as black, in his late 20s, medium build, with a bald head, and wearing a diamond stud in his left ear and a black leather jacket.
He spoke with a local accent.
A police spokesman said: “While she wasn’t seriously injured, the victim was nevertheless distressed as a result of her ordeal, and we are appealing for any information that can help us trace the suspect.
“Anyone who was in the area at the time, who either saw what happened, or noticed the suspect there, should contact police immediately.
“Similarly, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect, or who has any other information that can assist our inquiries, should also get in touch.”
