Police confirm the name of Leven truck death driver

By Martin Graham

POLICE have named a man who was killed in a tragic dumper truck accident at the new Diageo bottling plant in Fife earlier this week.

Jason Daisley

Jason Daisley, 37, who lived in Grangemouth but was originally from Falkirk, was killed when the truck he was driving toppled into a ditch on Thursday.

A police officer administered CPR but Mr Daisley – whose real name was Marcel – died at the scene.

He is survived by his wife Tracy and daughters Teigan, one, and Hayden, two.

Paying tribute to her husband, Mrs Daisley said in a statement: “We are devastated by the sudden loss of a wonderful, loving husband and father.

“I cannot put into words how we feel about Jason not being able to see our children grow up.

“Anybody who knew Jason will realise what a loss he is to us all.”

Police have submitted a report to the procurator fiscal.

Mr Daisley was working on construction of the new bottling plant as a sub-contractor for project managers Rok.

Colleagues based at Ground Developments in Livingston – the West Lothian firm he worked for – were unable to comment.

One worker there said only: “We’re just thinking about his family.”

The site was closed down immediately after the accident so Health and Safety Executive officials could begin its investigation.
