POLICE in Fife are hunting for a white van man who terrorised a woman on the roads.
The dangerous driver tailgated the 43-year-old woman before overtaking her and almost forcing her off the road.
Officers said the man then “dabbed his brakes”, causing the woman to brake and leaving her “extremely distressed”.
Fife Constabulary has now appealed for anyone who saw a white Mercedes 308D panel van on the A914 on Wednesday afternoon.
The woman, from Ceres in Fife, was driving to Kirkcaldy at around 4.15pm when the van pulled in behind her.
After following closely behind her, the driver of the van pulled out in a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre between the Springfield and New Inn Roundabout stretch of the road.
A spokesman for Fife Police said: “We are very keen to speak to any person who may have witnessed this incident.
“Clearly the driver of the van has driven in such a way that he has endangered both the woman and himself. This type of inconsiderate and downright dangerous driving is not acceptable.”
They added that the woman was left “extremely distressed” by the ordeal.
PC James Harvey who is leading the enquiry added: ” I would appeal to any person who saw this White Mercedes panel van being driven in an erratic manner in this area to contact us with information by calling us on 0845 600 5702 or contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
