A 19-YEAR-OLD rock climber was rushed to hospital after falling four metres down a quarry in Fife.
The teenage man was rescued by firefighters and paramedics after plunging into Rosyth Quarry on Wednesday night.
He was raced to Queen Margaret’s Hospital in Dunfermline following the rescue at 9pm although there is no indication of any injuries.
Ambulance staff said crews were called by a member of the public after the climber fell onto a ledge.
A spokeswoman said: “The patient had fallen four metres. The fire brigade assisted in extracting the patient. We did ask for a helicopter but both were already tasked at the time.
“The patient was taken to Queen Margaret’s Hospital and arrived there at 10.04pm.”
A Fife Fire and Rescue spokeswoman added: “We received a call from the ambulance service at 9.09pm.
“We were told a male had fallen about four metres. We assisted ambulance crews to move the casualty from where he was and on to a spine board.”
