POLICE are waiting to interview a woman found bleeding in the street from a head wound.
The 45-year-old is still receiving treatment for serious injuries after she was found covered in blood in Church Street, Broxburn, West Lothian, at 10.45pm on Thursday night.
She was rushed to St John’s Hospital in Livingston for treatment to a cut on her head, where she required sutures on her wound.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward while they wait for the woman to recover enough to speak to them.
They say they do not yet know how she was injured.
They are asking for anyone who was in the area around the time of the attack to come forward if they saw or heard anything out of the ordinary.
A police spokesperson said: “We are asking for anyone who might have been in the area last night, and who might have seen or heard something suspicious, to get in touch.
“Furthermore, we would appeal for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact us.”
Anyone with information was asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131 or Crimestoppers.
