A 47-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed to death in Edinburgh on Wednesday night has been named as Mohammed Mirza.
The dad-of-two died despite being treated at the scene by paramedics shortly after 10pm following the disturbance at Stenhouse Gardens North.
His wife Farzana was said by neighbours to have been to away in England at the time and speeded back by police to the city to be with her devastated family.
Mr Mirza was well known in the area, having worked as a taxi driver and vehicle recovery man in recent years.
Police were still at the scene carrying out door to door inquiries.
* A 48-year-old man was scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today charged with his murder.
