THE FAMILY of tragic mum Elizabeth McVey will gather next week to pay their last respects.
The mother of two – known to her friends and family as Libby – went missing from her home on March 22, just over a week before her body was found washed up on a beach near North Berwick.
A funeral service is to be held by at Our Lady of Loretto RC Church in Musselburgh before moving to Seafield Crematorium in Edinburgh.
Libby’s husband Michael will be joined by their children Mark and Lynsey for the service on Tuesday April 13.
“Full of life”
Irene McDowall, Libby’s mother, is also expected to attend, along with her brother Alan and his wife Fiona.
Michael McVey had been out with his children to help look for his wife, putting up posters in the seaside town.
At the time of his disappearance he described her as “full of life” and said that the “life has been torn out of me”.
Michael added: “She’s bright, vibrant, helpful. She always thinks of others before herself.
“She just generally cares about people all the time, she’s really nice.
“My life’s been torn out of me. I feel so low and I’m just trying to hold it together for the kids. It’s been awful.
“Really awful.”
