John Sinclair enjoys the new dog cafe

PAMPERED pooches can now enjoy their very own café complete with baskets, toys and a menu of gourmet food.

John Sinclair has set up the dog café at Craigie’s Farm Shop and Café after large numbers of walkers brought their pets to the shop.

Opening next month, owners will be able to leave their pets in the outdoor café while they browse the shop or sit with them and enjoy the views.

And they can treat their beloved canines to a selection of organic dog food.

“Special”

Mr Sinclair said: “We get a lot of dog walkers because of our location. It’s quite handy for walking from South Queensferry and Kirkliston.

“We’ve always had the problem that they didn’t have anywhere to leave their dogs.

“Some of them take them to the deck area outside the café, and usually that’s not a problem.

“But it can be difficult as we get a lot of children, and some of them are scared of dogs.

“We thought we’d make a special area for the dogs, where they could have a bowl of food and water.

“There’ll also be a couple of chairs so people can be with their dogs, and bones and toys for them to play with.”

Treat

The café will be in an enclosed area away from direct sunlight so pets can cool off in hot weather.

And dog baskets and kennels will be provided for the pooches to have a rest after a gruelling walk through the countryside.

The dog food on sale will also be available through the shop, and lucky dogs might get a leftover bone from the farm’s butcher’s counter.
