Snow for sale online

Five year old Ben Dewsberry with his igloo

THE pr-ICE could be right for eBay shoppers after they were offered the chance to buy SNOW online.

Up for auction is a whole car park full of the white stuff, an igloo or even individual bags of snow.

Bizarrely, offers for the car park worth of the stuff are flooding in.

With a starting price of 99p, the top bid stood at £36 today after just two days on the site.

“Have ours”

But the seller, from Ruthin in Wales, has warned that the goods can only be collected.

The description says: “This once in a lifetime offer to buy yourself a winter wonderland worth of snow.

“Ever fancied building the world’s biggest snowman – well with this amount of snow you could. (Carrot and coal not included in sale)

“Love sledging – but don’t have any snow – have ours.

“Fed up of colleagues not coming to work because they are snowed in? Well why not join them and snow yourself in.

“The snow is unused and in perfect condition. This is the real McCoy, not the usual Chinese imitations you get on here.

“This offer won’t last forever – we hope not anyway.”

“Bit of a laugh”

And a charity auction is taking place for a life-size igloo built by five-year-old Ben Dewsberry.

The Pingu fan and his Dad, Simon, took six hours to build the structure which is now taking pride of place in their garden.

But it didn’t take long for the regular eBay user to think about putting it up for sale on the web.

Simon, 43, said: “I use eBay a lot and my friends always joke that I’ll put anything up there.

“So it didn’t take long for me to think that I’ll show them and put it up. I thought it would be a bit of a laugh really.

“I made an igloo about 25 years ago and have been waiting all that time for enough snow to be able to do it again.

“Ben is very, very keen on Pingu and I knew he would love the igloo.”

Ben has autism and the penguin cartoon helps to improve his communication skills.

But it is thanks to his school – The Hollies School in Cardiff – that he has made most of the progress in the last 18 months.

The money raised in the auction is going to the school which looks after special needs children, many of them with autism.
