POLICE have arrested and charged three youths after a high-speed car chase through the streets of Edinburgh.
The three have been charged with dangerous driving and theft after allegedly stealing a Peugeot 306 and tearing through the narrow lanes of the city’s Old Town.

The pursuit continued across town towards Portobello and the shores of the Forth with the car narrowly missing pedestrians.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: “Police pursued the car through the Cowgate, with the car travelling at very high speeds, and pedestrians were lucky to avoid them.
“The occupants were apprehended separately between 12.45am and 1.15am around Bingham Drive and Magdalene Gardens.”
