A WOMAN in her sixties has been taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after a road smash in Edinburgh.
Fire crews had to cut the woman out of her car after she complained of back pain after the crash, which involved two cars near the Cameron Toll shopping centre yesterday (Sunday).
After lifting her out the roof, paramedics rushed to the Royal Infirmary where the woman is currently being treated.
A spokesperson for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue said: “We couldn’t get her out of the car so we had to cut the roof off.
“She was complaining that she couldn’t move due to back pain, so she has been taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment.”
Ten firefighters attended the scene, and there are no reports of other injuries.
