THE Princess Royal has been given a guided tour of Edinburgh’s revamped City Chambers.
Princess Anne was shown new stained glass windows at the building on the city’s Royal Mile before unveiling a plaque in the debating chamber.
The Princess Royal – the Queen’s only daughter – was introduced to the architect behind the conservation project of the 250-year-old building.
Rachel Simmonds, project architect with Smith, Scott and Mullan Associates, said the royal visitor had been impressed with the design of the huge dome in the chamber.
