WATCH: Amateur footballer’s hilariously upbeat reaction to horrific ankle break

WATCH the hilarious upbeat reaction an amateur footballer gives after suffering a horror injury during a game.

Moyo Ajibade, known online as Yourboymoyo, was playing in a match for his local side West Essex in the Essex Senior Football League on Saturday when he took a tumble and broke his ankle.

Despite the horror break though, the influencer managed to keep a smile on his face and hilariously filmed his own reaction as well as his teammates as they assessed his injury.

The clip begins as Moyo lies flat on his stomach on the ground with some teammates sat around him.

Moyo tells everyone around him that he doesn’t wish to see his leg, saying: “I’m going to close my eyes and go over the shoulder and do it.”

After raising the camera above his head and failing to show the foot correctly, he hands his phone to a teammate who wanders behind him to show his ankle is brutally facing the wrong way.

The Nike Mercurial boot is facing up towards the sky with a separate fellow footballer supporting his leg to make sure no further damage occurs.

The camera goes behind the boot and reveals the large bulge of displaced bone that requires the attention of hospital staff.

All around Moyo stand his concerned teammates who continue to advise him that he doesn’t want to see the horrific injury.

He once again addresses the camera saying: “My leg is completely gone, I don’t know what’s going on, I’m in trouble.”

Despite facing the agony of a broken ankle, Moyo spirits remain high as he begins laughing in disbelief about the situation.

Taking Moyo’s buoyant behaviour as their green light to begin poking jibes, his teammates offer their thoughts on his performance.

One hilariously jokes: “15 minutes and you done this, 15 minutes and five touches, two tackles, one shot and one dislocated ankle.”

Moyo quickly replies: “I’ve come all this way to break my leg.”

The ambulance soon arrives on the scene and Moyo is given some gas and air to reduce the pain from his ankle.

The two paramedics cover him in foil blankets to keep him warm and ensure he doesn’t suffer any issues with hypothermia.

One of his teammates remarks that he looks like a burrito which leaves both Moyo and the crowd laughing.

The influencer addresses the camera whilst taking in gas and air, saying: “I think I’m retiring this year for sure because this is peak, my leg’s broken.”

Shockingly – and with the effects of the gas and air in full operation – Moyo begins laughing to himself about the situation.

He offers viewers another update, adding: “They [the paramedics] said my leg is completely finished – think of a clock, the leg is not looking at 12, it’s looking at nine.”

The clip then switches to Moyo as he lays in a hospital bed addressing the camera saying: “I’m alive, I’m alive man, big up my peoples.”

Moyo pans the camera across the medical area where four of his teammates have accompanied him to hospital and all stand chatting to each other.

Despite being under the influence of heavy sedation, Moyo still remembers to pay tribute to the hard-working medical staff who have looked after him.

He says: “Regardless of how inconvenient and annoying this has been, big up to every single doctor, nurse, paramedic, physio, every single one of them.

“Honestly, they don’t get the recognition they deserve man, these guys are – they’re amazing man.”

Leaving the hospital after treatment, Moyo then films himself being pulled down the corridor, showing that his leg has been wrapped after being put back into place.

The social media star shared the video to social media last Sunday with the caption: “Leg may be broken but the good vibes never stop.”

His video received over 538,000 likes with more than 3,000 comments from social media users who were stunned at Moyo’s reaction to his injury.

One said: “That gas you’re inhaling must be some good stuff.”

Another added: “Why is everyone being so casual about this?”

A third replied: “Bro is the happiest person ever with a broken leg.”

Another commented: “Lord have mercy, good friends to keep his mood up.

A fifth wrote: “Definition of if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.”

Recovery from a dislocated or broken ankle can take anywhere from six weeks to over a year depending on the severity of the injury.
