TEENAGE dancing sensation George Sampson said switching the Christmas lights on in a Scottish town was a million miles away from where he was just six months ago.

The 15-year-old Britain’s Got Talent winner performed his victorious Singing In The Rain routine in front of hundreds of screaming girls before the official duty of lighting up Livingston.

And the schoolgirls’ favourite – who was dancing on the streets of Warrington before making it on the TV talent show – revealed how he was warming up for almost 45 minutes behind closed doors at The Centre in the town.

He said: “I have been to Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh on tour and I love it in Scotland, it’s amazing.

“I love going to new places and meeting new people and to be asked to come to Livingston to switch the lights on is unbelievable. It’s a bit of a dream to be honest.”

And the teenager claimed that some quality time with his family is top of his Christmas list after being propelled into the limelight since winning the show in May.

He said: “I couldn’t ask for much more this year because I have been given so much.

“All that I have missed is time alone with my family, so that’s what I am looking forward to.”

And the dance star revealed he is still getting used to the attention from the female fans after hundreds of girls turned up with posters and their faces painted with his initials.

He said: “I never expected that this could happen to me. I was determined to make it though and I’m loving every second of it.

“There’s not a word for it, it’s crazy but I just love it.”
