Savvy Brit claims to have flown to Italy and bought pizza for less than the price of a Domino’s – but others aren’t convinced

A SAVVY Brit has claimed to have been able to fly to Italy and buy pizza for less than the price of a Domino’s order – but others are skeptical.

Liam Bond took to social media on Monday to share his big bargain, having reportedly used travel deals site Cheap Flights Club to net £19 return flights to Milan.

Once there, he claims to have indulged in “the best pizza [he’s] ever had” for £8 – with the total cost coming in at £13 less than his usual £40 spent splashing out on a Domino’s order.

However, not everybody is convinced his trip was legitimate, or worthwhile, with many slamming the site as a “scam” and panning Liam for flying to another country purely on a food-based whim.

Two slices of pizza on paper plates, held by a person wearing a black jacket. One is topped with cheese and pepperoni, the other cheese and bacon. A paper plate of lasagne is just visible in the person's other hand.
Liam posted this as proof of his Italian adventure

The site charges a fee of £3.99 a month to access its “premium” deals, with flights reportedly as low as £12.

As apparent proof of his journey to the European mainland, Liam posted a mouthwatering picture of two large slices of pizza on paper plates.

Both are generous on the cheese and toppings, one with pepperoni, the other with bacon.

A small plate of lasagne is just visible in his other hand.

He shared the snap to social media on Monday with the caption: “Fancied a pizza, so instead of spending £40 on Domino’s I paid £19 for return flights to Milan on Cheap Flights Club and £8 for the best pizza I’ve ever had.”

It has since received over 39,000 likes and over 520 comments from Brits with very mixed views on his trip.

One said: “What site are you using to go to Milan and back for 19 quid, that’s banging.

“It cost me 22 quid in a cab just to take my kid to school and that’s not a return.”

Another replied: “Scam, the reviews are terrible. Nice try.”

A third warned: “Great. You’ve paid £3.99 for how many months to a scam website to get this deal. What a waffle post this is.”

Another commented: “Would have got more pizza for your money at Domino’s though.”

A fifth said sarcastically: “Fancied pizza so finally ate some after hours of waiting in airports, hours on a plane, hours walking the streets to find pizza and several meals in between.

“Sounds great.”

Another joked: “Just Stop Oil will be spraying you with orange paint soon.”

Sure enough, another wrote: “In other news, there is currently a heat wave in Antarctica. Take some responsibility.”

Liam hit back with: “I just went to Milan for a bit of food and drink mate, on a flight that was very much already going there.

“Not sure you can blame me for a heat wave in f***ing Antarctica.”
